CATHY JOYCE

After working for many years in London theatre and stealing time to make fibre crafts  for fun; I moved to Vancouver in 2006. Looking for my place here I answered a tiny advertisement for a ‘knitter wanted’ in the window of the Silk Weaving Studio. I was welcomed into this wonderful group of creative and inspiring people and fed with ideas and help, kindness and encouragement. I am delighted to make woven and knitted pieces for the studio and thrilled to have begun a journey exploring the possibilities of weaving and dying silk. Recently I have been using cashmere in a lot of my pieces and the combination of fibres and the ease of creating glorious colours is an inspiration.
