CATHY JOYCE

After working for many years in London theatre and stealing time to make fibre crafts for fun; I moved to Vancouver in 2006. Looking for my place here I answered a tiny advertisement for a ‘knitter wanted’ in the window of the Silk Weaving Studio. I was welcomed into this wonderful group of creative and inspiring people and fed with ideas and help, kindness and encouragement. I am delighted to make woven and knitted pieces for the studio and thrilled to have begun a journey exploring the possibilities of dying silk. Recently I have chosen to investigate some ideas of dots and textures inspired by a wall hanging by Ani Albers
