- ERI EXPLORATIONS COLLECTION | MAY - JUNE 2024 -
I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to coordinate the studio's annual show this year and to create four unique pieces for it.
The Eri Explorations Exhibition truly is a celebration of this wonderful silk. It is an honour to have my scarves featured alongside twelve other very talented artists for this exhibit that runs until June 16, 2024. All pieces are for sale and available at the Silk Weaving Studio.

My « Eri Explorations Collection » evolved through a process of discoveries and explorations around the eri silk moth and the red and white silk it produces. As I worked and played with the yarn at the loom, the narrative behind my creations followed a similar journey to the silk moth :: it emerged slowly, rested plenty, and unfurled just in time for our eri silk celebration. All pieces handwoven with eri silk and cotton.
- FIBONACCI 1-8 SERIES - MONOCHROME COLLECTION | DECEMBER 2023 -
The « Fn 1-8 Monochrome Collection » is a study of the Fibonacci sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 in black and white. The use of this ratio as a design element gives a sense of movement to the patterns and creates visual interest. The composition for each scarf is unique to this sequence and displays a rhythmic interval of lines, blocks or stripes. All five pieces handwoven with black tussah silk and white silk linen.
- WOOLLY CHUNKY COLLECTION | NOVEMBER 2023 -
The « Woolly Chunky Collection » is the continuation of a series I created for Texture in Silence (2022). Only this time, the pieces are in colours. Still very textural in nature, this series is more bold than quiet. My desire was to create warm colourful chunky scarves for the autumnal season. All pieces are made of wool, silk and other blends of natural fibres.
Anik is a textile artist who enjoys weaving on different types of looms using natural fibres. The expression of her work is directed by an insatiable curiosity to explore new forms, textures and colours. Playing at the loom to discover new possibilities guides her weaving approach. Her woven pieces often cross the boundaries between functional and sculptural. Anik joined the Silk Weaving Studio in 2013. Contact email: [email protected] |
