Kassie Ruth
Most of my life I have dabbled in fiber arts: sewing, quilting, and
basketry. In 1992 I started working with Diana Sanderson as an apprentice.
With her encouragement, I began to explore weaving as a personal expression.
Later under Eve Kriss' direction, I learned to dye silk yarn.
In weaving as in life, I am interested in relationships. What does one
yarn look like next to another? How does one color affect the others?
How do different textures change the look and feel of a textile?
The pleasure comes from the tactile experience of handling and dyeing
yarns, while exploring color and texture in simple weaves.
