Before I moved to Canada about three years ago I used to visit the Silk Weaving Studio on my trips to Vancouver just to breath in the colour and the texture and the creativity which bursts from that small building. Part of the dream that brought me here was the chance to make and sell crafts and the chance to work with this amazing team of people means that dream has come true. I am really looking forward to becoming a fully fledged member of the weaving group in addition to the knitting projects we have developed together.
My jewellery incorporates everyday objects, mainly buttons, into pieces with decorative, vintage and semiprecious beads. I hope by putting them beside with more conventionally glamorous beads and sparkles I make a small celebration of the buttons’ beauty.
